JUGGLING WARM UP

ORGANIZATION:

30x40 yard grid, each Player with a ball.

INSTRUCTIONS:

- Players work in pairs. Set number of touches allowed.

Players have to reach 5 or 10 to 20 juggles depending the player levels.

Play for a fixed time, winners move up to play a new player.

COACHING POINTS:

- Players try to improve their touches (suppleness, control and foot-eye coordination) by juggling with different surfaces of their feet & body.

Organization:

10 Players in a 2 lines grid , 10x20 yards.

Instructions:

Players form 2 lanes ( grid, 10x20 yards) in each lane and go through a variety of dynamic stretches in 2 lines. Add any static stretches as needed.

Organization:

15x25. 2 Groups of 5 running at the same time

Instructions:

Player A plays to Player B

Player B sets Player A who plays straight pass Player C. Player C plays to B who play to player D .

Player D play to player E.

Rotation. Player A moves to Player B, Player B moves to Player C , player C to D and D to A.

Coaching Points:

- Quality of pass (weight and accuracy)

- Opening out and receiving on back foot

- Quality of set to next player (taking weight off the ball)

Progressions:

P1: After passing, A becomes defender again C.

Organization:

15x25. 3 Groups running at same time

Instructions:

Player A passes to player B

Player B Checks to side and plays double pass in behind Player C with Player A

Player B turns and drives into space

Player C shuts the door and player B uses Move to beat Player C

MAIN THEME : OPPOSED

Organization: 4 15x15 sqaures in the middle, two end zones. 3 teams of 2.

Instructions:

Play begins with an outside player.

They must play to a teammate inside the area.

That teammate inside the area then plays to their other teammate inside the area.

The pass must be made into the square diagonally opposite.

A to B, B to A , A to C and C to D . And to restart : D to E , E to D , D to F and F to A.

The ball is then played back out to a teammate on the outside of the area.

The player receiving the ball on the outside plays it to the other team, specifically to the player on the same side as him

The other tean then run through the same drill.

Opposed:

Use 2 players from 1 team inside the area to act as defenders.

They can only defend the 2 squares in their side of the pitch.

The 2 attackers can use the whole area but must receive the ball in a different square to their teammate.

Score points by keeping possession whilst passing through the area and to the outside.

Defenders score by winning the ball and getting it to their teammates on the outside.

At this point they then become the attackers.

Coaching Points:

- Timing of check

- Timing of Pass

- Recieve on correct foot

- Check shoulder to see if space is behind

- Quick movement straight after pass to get in behind

- Curved run to open up space.

- High tempo

- Demand the ball

Progression:

P1: 3V3 inside and 2 support players outside. If a team reach successively their support after a double passes , they win 3 points.

5v5 GAME

Organization:

4v4 (2goals or 3 Mins) 3 Teams of 4.

Instructions:

Players split into 3 teams of 4 and play 3 mins or 2 goals.

Coaching Points:

- 3 Lines of Attack

- Creating diamond (give angles of support)

- Making diamond a big as possible (Creates space)

- Identifying any numbers up situations
