Burger Bar

Organization:

20 x 20 yard area set up a shown

12 players (4 groups of 3) set up as shown

Lots of soccer balls, cones and pinnies

Instructions:

All burgers (balls), lettuce (pinnies) and buns (cones) are centrally located in area ‘The Grill’. Players take turns to go to the grill, get (1) item and run back to their burger bar. Each team must build as many burgers as they can. The team with the most complete burgers wins.

Coaching Points:

- Get to the grill quickly

- Make sure you build a good burger

Progressions:

Players have to flip the burger (throw in the air) before taking it to the burger bar.

Cops & Robbers

Organization:

Players spread throughout area

Disc cones

Instructions:

"Cops and Robbers"

Each players needs a bib tucked in the side of their shorts. Players with a bib are the robbers. The cop who is not wearing the bib is released when the robbers are "in the run." The cops job is to grab the "Robbers bib" who now becomes a cop to help catch the other robbers. After all "Robbers" are caught the coach elects a "New Cop"

The "Robbers Bib" is the bag of precious jewels and fine art he was trying to get away with.

Progressions:

Once a robber steals a players soccer ball, it is theirs to take around and now the player who lost their ball is a robber trying to steal another ball

Conditioned Game

Organization:

Conditioned game, small sided

2 gates on either end along with a goal

Instructions:

Small sided scrimmage

Players can score by shooting into opponent's goal or by successfully dribbling through one of the gates on the endline.

Can stagger points to encourage dribbling through the gates

Also could place two goals where the gates are and allow players to score by dribbling across any other part of the endline

Coaching Points:

Encourage players to find the best option to score

Change of direction with the ball

Head and eyes up looking for open space

Communication with team
