Practice Organisation:
*7yd Square with lines of players on each side.
*1st player stands inside square, the rest stand on the cone to give room.
1. Practice starts with: Player must put hand on the ball and pass to a team mate.
2. Once he has passed he runs to the back on the line.
Progressions:
*If you pass to the right you must run left, and vise-versa.
*Can you play a 1-2 around the middle man.
Learning Objectives:
1. Get a picture of where to play.
2. Draw the defender in to play around.
3. Direction of first touch.
Practice Organisation:
- A 20x20yd square with a small 4yd square marked out in each corner.
- A mannequin outside the square can be adjusted if needed.
- An even number of payers in the corners.
- Practice starts with: A player from each corner runs anti-clockwise towards next square, once there they tag the next player, he then sets off. Player A must run around mannequin and try and catch Player B.
Progressions:
- Add a football.
- Change style of run, backwards, sideways etc.
Learning Objectives:
- To improve speed with and without the ball.
- Stay low for good turns and good acceleration.
Two Touch Play
Inside, outside and sole surfaces of the foot.
1. Player A starts with a pass to opposite player B
2. Player recieves, takes one touch past the pole and plays back to A. After player B checks back into the centre of the poles.
3. Player B repeats step 2 with Player A.
4. Player A repeats step 2 but in the opposite direction
5. Player B repeats step 4 with player B.
Practice Organisation:
*Mark out an area and split it into 4 channels.
*Players set up as illustrated.
*Players look to transfer the ball to each other, defenders must stay in own channel. You can only regain possession by intercepting the ball.
Learning Objectives:
1. Nearest player must press the ball showing towards team mates - curve run.
2. Second player must be correct distance from team-mate, needs to be in a position to stop foward pass.
3. Third player does the same as second.
4. Make sure there are small gaps, and player are not in a straight line.
