Juggling Warm Up

Organization:

Players in pairs

1 ball per pair.

Instructions:

Players work as a team.

Player A serves under arm, player B has specific instructions to play ball back to partner, who must catch, without bouncing, to score a point.

Switch servers after 1 minute.

Progressions:

1) Four touches, any surface. Pass back must be on fourth touch.

2) Four touches, any surface. pass back must be on the fourth touch, with the head.

3) Four touches, any surface. Pass back must be on the fourth touch on the half volley.

4) Four touches, any surface. Pass back must be on the fourth touch, and partner must catch ball on the dive (GK style) for the point to count.

Organization:

2 lines of players approximatvely 20 yard apart.

2 players are in the middle in between the 2 lines of players.

Instructions:

Players A pass to player B.

Player A run thru the middle and receive the ball back from B after shouting AGAIN.

Player B the pass to C who continue the rotation with player D.

Coaching Points:

Weight and accuraccy of the pass.

Verbal and visual communication.

Player A must check out to create space for B to run thru.

Rotate players every 5 rotation.

Progressions:

Add the goal and finish 1 touch.

Organization:

lines of players approximatvely 20 yard apart.

2 players are in the middle in between the 2 lines of players.

Instructions:

Players A pass to player B and ask to HOLD the Ball.

Players A is overlaping player B.

Player B dribble thru the middle to create space for A to run. Player B then pass the ball using the outside of is foot to Player A after he shout NOW( ready to receive the ball.).

Continue rotation with C and D.

Coaching Points:

Recognize defender holding the middle of the field to stop penetration.

Announce your intention to passing player.

Create space for overlaping player by dribbling into field at defender(flag)

Disguise pass using outside of the foot.

Deliver pass into space for overlaping player to run to.

Progressions:

Replace flag by passive defender.

Increase pressure.

Organization:

-30X40 yards grid

-2 goals on each end line

-12 players, split into 3 groups

-Assign each team a goal to defend

-Players on the outside should line up across their defensive end line with a large supply of balls.

Instructions:

-If a team gets scored on they step off and two new team members step on with the ball

-Players from each team look to get a quick attack on the team that just scored

-As a team scores they must quickly transition to stop the quick (counter) attack.

-The scoring team stays on the field until they get scored on

-If the ball goes out of bounds, the ball restarts from a teammate on their end line.

- Attackers can move to 2nd zone after combining, defenders cannot move zone to zone.

-Players only switch after their group gets scored on

-First team to 20 wins.

***This is a large field for 2v2, but it's intentional as it will create more breakaway situations and will encourage players to attack the space while going to goal

Coaching Points:

-Quick transition after scoring a goal

-Quick attack trying to off balance the defense, by creationg numbers up with combinations.

-Pick the right time when to beat a defender on the dribble and when to pass around defenders

-Play with speed

***Make sure the game is quick, fast paced and a lot of goals are being scored

Progressions:

-Modify the size of the grid and play 3v3 or 4v4 depending on the number of players .

Game - No restrictions 7v7

Let them play, but look out to re-inforce session pointers. Look for movement and leadership.

Cool down and stretch and re-cap session and mention next game on September 6th.
