Drill - Varied Dribbling (5mins)

Set Up:

15x15 box

5 cones

8 Balls (2 balls per 4)

Play:

- A+B both dribble at same time to middle cone and perform drop of shoulder and drive right, follow through to back of each others que.

- Once they beat middle cone both C+D replicate

- After twice each, change to moving left

- Progress to step overs, change from right foot to left foot after three each.

Coaching Points:

- Small touches on the ball keeping the ball close when dribbling to target

- Keep body low for good balance and control

- Keep head up to see space/opponent

- Throw body when dropping shoulder/stepover to exagerate and move defender

- Drive off at pace with larger touches on the ball after beating cone (game-like, beat player and drive into space)

Game Related - End Zone Game (10mins)

Set-Up:

50x30 area

8v8 in 2-3-2 formation

Two end zones

Play:

- Both teams must drive over the end zone to score a point

Coaching Points:

- Drive into space

- Keep head up to find space/opponents/teammates

- Encourage players to beat opponent

- Drive at opponent with pace, encouring change of direction/speed to beat man

Conditioned Game - Wingers (10mins)

Set Up:

50x40 area

Two channels the length of the pitch 5 yards apart

7v7 + 2 Wingers

Formation = 1-3-1

finish off with static stretching

Play:

- Players must try and score into opponents goal to win the match

Condition: - Players can use wing players to help create over load

- Wing players can drive inside if there is space to create goalscoring chance

Coaching Points:

- Drive into space

- Keep head up to find space/opponents/teammates

- Encourage players to beat opponent

- Drive at opponents with pace

- Use change of direction/speed to beat opponent

- Use large touches to break away from opponent, get the ball out from beneath your feet
