Organization: 30x20 yard area, plenty of cones that will serve as gatesand all players with ball

Instructions: Players are dribbling inside of area. They will be asked to dribbile thrugh gates while being introduced to the Cruyf turn

Coaching Points:

- Technique of turn

- Get the plant foot down wide of the ball

- If you are turning with the right foot plant left foot on the left side of the ball (vice-versa if turning with the left foot)

- Have space between the plant foot and the ball so he ball does not hit the plant foot when turning

- Bring the big toe the kicking foot behind the ball

- Take a touch or little flick with the big toe away from the planting foot and trn your behind from 6 o'clock to 12 o'oclock

- Pick up your head and take the space ahead of you

Progressions: Make sure players are turning with both feet.

Reasons for need to turn - into space & away from danger

Organization: 4 cones in the middle of the area, 4 groups

Each player has a ball

Instructions:

- On Coaches call, players wil dribble to a middle cone performing the Cruyf Turn

- Next player will go when the player performing the turn makes eye contact with them

Coaching Points:

-Close Control

-Head Up (check over shoulder to assess space and pressure)

-Accelerate after the turn

Messi and Ronaldo touches and Xavi Vision to turn

- Same as previous screen

Progressions:

Make into a race

Regression: Have all balls in center players race to perform turn and return as many balls as possible to their group.

2 Grids- 40 x 25

Instructions:

- 4 goals

- 4 teams

- Coach serves all balls

- Each player from each team will be given a number. All the teams will have the same numbers, for ex 1-4. When I call out the number that number from each teams needs to score on any of the goals expect their own.

- First team to 6 goals wins

Each team chooses their Favorite National team.

Play World Cup 1 v 1 v 1 in each grid.

Keep Score.

- Reaction Speed

- Use turns when goals are defended to find another goal

- Dribbling- Keeping ball

- Dribble at defenders taking on players 1v1

Introduction of combination play and passing.
