Warm Up.
Players begin with Dynamic exercises Moving diagonally across the grid to the other side then jogging clockwise around the grid to the next corner.
Exercises- Butt Kicks, High Knees, Side skips, 2 feet sideways jog through center cones, Zig Zag forwards jog though center cones, Knees tucks, Walking lunges forwards, quad stretch walk, calf stretch walk. In corners leg swings forwards & sideways, squats. going back across grid with 3/4 pace runs 2 at time.
Exercises with ball
1. Dribble up left side and around cone using inside of left foot, pass in to next player and spring into back of line. Switch to Right side.
2. Inside/outside touches rotating through right, left, both feet. Dribble past cone and perform walkover rollout turn. Pass ball in and 3/4 sprint to back of line .
3. forward touch rollover to other foot. Players should look to get in as many as possible while moving towards center cone. Dribble around center cone using outside of foot only.
4. Speed dribble up using laces only- Sole pull turn at cone and speed dribble back.
Exercise 1
Both 1s dribble towards center cone down right side, dribble around cone to the left and pass in to 2s feet. After pass return to back of your origional line. 2s repeat.
Exercise 2
Both 2s dribble down right side to center cone and turn to the left, Pass the ball into 1s feet and check out to side line opening up to recieve a ball back from 1. recieve on back foot and play back to 1 who has dropped out to create space. 1s repeat.
8v2-
SET UP- 6 players spread around circle aproximately 20 yards in diameter. Each player is positioned between cones, Aditional players create 2v 2 in the middle.
GAME- 10 Consecutive passes= 1 point. each game is 3 minutes in length before players in the middle are switched. Players in the middle on posession team are restricted to 2 touch.
Coaching points-
Attacking players in center must work together and create a triangle with outside player in possesion of ball
Outside players must stay focused and on toes ready to recieve a pass and play quickly
When possible center players should recieve ball in open frame and look to combine with each other.
a 1-2 combination also scores a point.
Communication.
SET UP- Teams are split into 2 teams of 5 Players. 3 players from each team stand oround the outside of circle while 2 players from each team play in center of circle.
GAME- Each team tries to posses the ball for as long as possible. Start with unlimited touches then progress to 2 touch then 1 touch. Change the players in the middle every 5 minutes.
COACHING POINTS-
Quick passing
constant movement off ball, players in center need to work again as a pair creating triangles as often as possible.
Communication.
High pressure defending.
SET UP-
35 by 25 field. seperated into 3 zones. 2 attackers v 1 Defender in each end zone and 2v2 in the center cone. Each team plays towards a goal.
GAME-
-5v5 game with unlimited touches. Players must stay within there zones at all time.
-progress game to 2 touch.
-remove zones and free play.
