Short Short Long Passing Activity
Groups of 4 or 5
Players will jog around and pass to players using one and two touch passes
Ball will be played across and one touch to player checking in and touch back to player making themselves available who will then get a prep touch and serve ball to the other side
Coaching Points
- Control ball
- Weight of pass
- Plant foot and weight of body to lift the ball as if they were crossing
- Movement away from ball and making themselves available
- Receiving to set up the pass or cross
One and Two touch activity
4 lines and have players sorted out in the 4 blue gates
Player A will pass to player B (then do a quick bending run to receive the ball wide)
Player B will pass to player C (then moves to center to set themself up for cross)
Player C will pass to player D (who will make a bending run to far post to prepare for crossed ball)
Player D after checking in will receive pass from player C who and will control the ball and pass wide to player A who is creating an overlapping run to space
This player who receives the ball wide will control the ball and take towards the goal as Player A and Player C will make over lapping runs and Player who made pass sets theirself up for cross ball

Technical Cross
Are the runs predictable and can they cross each other
Do a few repetitions to the right and switch and go to left. Inportant to get the technique and timeing down and go through a few repetitions slowly so they can get the pattern.
Players will play 5 v 4 which includes the GK.
As shown when the players in red near the goal are ready they will quickly check in to receive the ball and players need to sort themselves out on decision making to go to goal. The players in blue will follow and jump in and defend and if they win the ball they can score on the counter goals.
Do players after having control of the ball create opportunities to go wide and set themselves up for a cross. Can you demonstronstate a Wall Pass to space or Overlap to space to create a cross and see what the players off the ball are doing to make themselves available.

Goal to counter playing 7 v 6 with target player starting the activity
Focus on players who are wide to make themselves available to receive the ball do the players create overlaps to space or othern combinations to get into space. Do the players crowd the box or look for opportunity or cues from player crossing the ball.
