SAQ Warm Up
Set up like above. Group split up into 2. Both players go at the same time.
Players run through the ladder with one foot in each gap and then side step across to the tall cone and then sprint to the last tall cone and rejoin the back of the line.
Progressions:
- Players go side to side through the cones
- Players bunny hop through the cones
- Players sprint backwards once they have finished sidestepping to the tall cone
- Players sprint backwards to halfway and then turn and sprint forwards
Play for 15 minutes
Ball Mastery Unopposed Practice
Set up like above, 2 playes in each square, a soccer ball each.
Players dribble using a number of variations:
- Right foot
- Left foot
- Inside
- Outside
- Laces
- Bottom
Progression:
1) Players stand with the tall cone in the middle and perform a turn making sure they both go right of the cone to prevent them bumping into each other.

Ball Mastery Opposed Practice
Set up like above, 2 players in each channel, 1 ball between the two.
The session starts with players back to back with the ball between their shoulder blades, they will count to 5 and then move and challenge for the ball. Players have to take the ball to the end line they are attacking to win a point. If the ball goes out they restart the game how they started it. If a player scores they will restart the game how they started.
Play for 10 Minutes.
Finish with a small sided scrimmage, encourage players to travel with the ball at their feet and perform different turns to get past their opponent. No goalies.
