Players work in pairs in 20X20 grid or smaller depending on number, one player with a ball

Instructions:

Both players with balls

1 the leader other shadow

30 second games

Leader gets a point when coaches freezes the game and shadow is more than 5 yards

Accelerate and decelerate

As you change direction accelerates (Inside, outside, pull back)

-Make the most passes without touching the cone

-if first touch is playable gets a point

Receiving Pass Directionally

Instructions:

- Players pass ball between cones to partner (Red starting)

- Players first touch is in the direction of the color cones called by the passer

Coaching Points:

- Aware of what cones you have to pass through

- First touch in the correct direction

- Use inside and outside of the foot for first touch

Progressions:

P - Players compete to get as many points

Gate Passing

Players are in groups of two. Large grid set up with random cone gates throughout the area. The partner dribble around and then complete a pass through the gate. Go for a set time and give points for every gate passed through.

Skills Challenge

Organization:

5x5 yard receiving square (Red)

2 yard target gates (Blue) positioned 5 yards from receiving square

1 player to perform challenge

3 additional players behind each target area

Coach at 1st target area

Instructions:

- Coach begins challenge by passing into receiving player

- Receiving player controls the ball and returns it through A

- If successful, player can move on to returning the ball through B

- If unsuccessful, player continues to work at A until successful

- Coach always serves the ball

- Player works around each target gate in clockwise direction

- Point scored each time target gate is hit

- Challenge lasts for 30 seconds
