Warm-Up

Organization:

-20x20 yrds

-6-12 players

-Each Player with ball

-Cones in the middle

Instructions:

-Each player dribbles with ball.

-On coach's call, players dribble to a near cone & perform a specific turn or move.

Coaching Points:

-Keep head up

-keep ball close, change of speed.

Progressions:

-Players use certain surface of foot. (inside, outside)

-Half players w/ no ball, half w/ ball. Player performs a move then passes to open player.

-Player dribbles to a corner flag & enters field.

Main Theme

Organization:

-15x15

-2 players on each side with a ball

Instructions:

-On each end, Players dribble out towards center cone.

-Prior to the arrival, Players attempt a specific move.

-After a few reps, players attempt another move.

Coaching Points:

-Keep head up

-Timing of move

Progressions:

-Perform move at walking speed, jogging & full speed.

-After player performs move, they must complete by passing.

Instructions:

-Player A starts by passing to player B.

-Player B recieves the ball & attempts to dribble past Player A

-Player B walks towards middle but doesn't attempt to steal.

-Player A attempts a specific move.

Coaching Points:

- Controlled Approach

-Timing of move

-Control kept close

-Head up, Change of speed.

Progressions:

-Defending player can walk, jog & sprint towards recieving player.

-Defending player can poke ball away.

Conditioned game

-attacker & defender

Instructions:

-Player with ball attempts to score a point by dribbling through the gate on opposite end.

-Defending player must stop player from entering gate.

-Attacker gets one point for entering through gate.

Coaching Points:

-Timing of move.

-Deception of move.

Progressions:

-Add one more attacker or defender.Progression B

-Time limit.

-Number of touches
